Beach House Compound

This beach house in Rowayton had a detached office and lots of character but few modern features and amenities, making a complete renovation of both structures a necessity. We created mock-ups to help the customer visualize how it would look. Despite redesigning the house according to today’s standards and the owner’s requirements, the bygone charm was maintained by using both recycled and antique materials. Incorporating the exterior spaces into the overall design connected the two buildings, which unified the property. The redesigned exterior hardscape and facades, including stone walls and outdoor seating areas, greatly improved the view from the street and overall livability. The customer lived on the property during construction, which was done in phases.
